About the Osstem system
Osstem Implant is a South Korean manufacturer founded in 1997 and headquartered in Seoul. It is one of the highest-volume implant producers in the world and the market leader across much of the Asia-Pacific region, which is the main practical argument for it: the system is extremely widely used, so components are easy to source and a dentist anywhere is likely to be able to work on it years from now.
In cost terms it generally sits below the European premium brands while remaining a mainstream, well-documented system rather than a budget one. For most straightforward cases this is a sensible middle position.
How implant treatment is staged
Implants are not a single-visit treatment. There are normally two trips:
- First visit (3–5 days): examination, 3D imaging, any extractions or grafting, and placement of the implant fixtures. You go home with temporaries where they are needed.
- Healing (usually 3–6 months): the bone integrates with the implant. This happens at home, not in Turkey. Nobody can compress this stage — anyone offering you permanent crowns on fresh implants in a week is doing something you should ask hard questions about.
- Second visit (3–5 days): abutments and your permanent crowns or bridge are fitted.
Some cases allow immediate loading, where a temporary bridge goes on at the first visit. Whether yours does is a clinical judgement based on your bone, not something we can promise from an email.
Getting a real figure
Send us a recent panoramic X-ray (an OPG) and tell us which teeth are missing. We come back with a written, itemised quote: number of implants, whether grafting is needed, what the restoration on top will be, how many days each visit takes, and what the accommodation and transfers cost. If a second brand would serve you better or cheaper, we will say so.
